Troubleshooting steps for Google Business profiles
There are several common reasons why Google Business declines posts or why you may be unable to add or reconnect a Google Business Profile. The following list can help you identify the source of the trouble and how to correct it.
Create a Google Business group
If you want to share location management with a co-worker, a manager of one of your brands or regions, or an agency, or if you want to run location ad campaigns, creating a group of locations can help with that. It can also sometimes help to get stubborn locations to connect to Sendible.
To take advantage of this, add the coworker or agency employee as a 'Manager' or 'Owner' to the Business group and transfer the locations to that group.
Trouble with publishing
Are you using the right image ratio?
Google Business is very strict on the image ratio you can use. The recommended size for Google Business is 1080 x 608 px.
Is your image a photograph?
Google Business only allows images of people, food, places, etc. Please avoid using pictures of menus or text-based images, as this may cause the post to bounce.
Has the business been verified?
Before you can post, the business must be verified. Please see the following link to check the status of your business: https://business.google.com/manage
Is the Business location grouped or ungrouped?
Grouped and ungrouped locations can affect visibility in the drop-down list when you try to add them to the dashboard. Log into the Google account with 'Owner' or 'Manager' permissions and ensure that you select the correct Business Group and Business location.
Trouble with adding/reconnecting a Google Business profile
Do you have the correct permission level for the business location?
Your account must be set to 'Owner' or 'Manager' so you can add a Google Business profile to Sendible and publish successfully.
This can be viewed and changed, if needed, via the Google Business Management page. Click the location in question, then click the three dots for additional profile settings.
Next, click on 'People and access'.
Check that your account is listed as either 'Owner' or 'Manager'. Groups can be owners in addition to individual people.
Is it a Google Business that has more than 10 locations?
If you publish to a Google Business with more than 10 locations (franchise), you may receive the following message: "This location belongs to a chain. The Local Post API is disabled for this location." Google Business has added limitations depending on when the locations were created. You can manage the limit of the number of Google Business for your account by requesting bulk verification.
