Delete users or set them to inactive
Deleting or marking a user inactive can affect scheduled posts, social profiles, and reporting. Before you do either of those, a few things must be considered. You may need to export posts and transfer profiles from one user account to another.
Caution: You will not be able to delete users set up as admins until you edit their access. Admin-level access must be changed to either 'Client' or 'Team Member' and saved before the option to delete that user becomes available. In addition, they must be active and not manage other users. Please see the article Delete admin users for more information.
You also won't be able to delete the main admin user (the account set up when first signing up to Sendible), as billing is linked to this account. In that case, please review the details regarding what to do in the article: Offboarding: A guide for when someone leaves your account.
Move drafted, queued, and/or scheduled posts
If the user account you want to delete has posts you'd like to keep, you can export them into a CSV file and then import that file into a different user's account to publish from there.
Exporting can be done by navigating to the view you want and clicking the checkbox in the upper-left corner to select all the posts that have been loaded into the dashboard (you may want to scroll down to load more) and then clicking on the More list to select the Export to CSV option.
Once you've exported the posts and transferred the related profiles from one user to the other, you can then re-import the posts using the bulk importer.
Transfer the profiles
Any social profiles you want to keep should be transferred to a different user by following the steps outlined in the article: Transfer and share profiles. This is especially important regarding profiles that have been gathering reporting data. Otherwise, all such data for that profile will be lost.
Transferring profiles will retain the reporting data related to that profile, but it won't automatically transfer related posts. See the above information on how to Move drafted, queued, and/or scheduled posts.
Make a user inactive
- Click on your username on the top right-hand side of the dashboard.
- Select Manage users from the drop-down menu.
- Click the Edit option opposite the user account you wish make inactive.
- Toggle the Inactive option so that it changes colour.
- Then, save the change by clicking the Update User button.
- Scheduled posts will appear in the Sent view and not in the Undelivered view, but they will actually not be published to the social profile.
- Any profiles in the My Profiles area of the inactive account which are shared with other users will still be available to the other users, and any posts scheduled through those users to those social profiles should publish successfully.
- Any reports scheduled by the inactive user will not be sent out.
Delete the user
- To delete a user, select the Delete User option at the bottom of the user editing window.
- When a confirmation window opens, click Yes, and the user will be removed from your account.
If you mistakenly delete a user, their account can be restored for a limited time afterwards. However, the profiles that were in their My Profiles view cannot be restored. You will need to contact the support team for help with this.
