Transfer and share profiles
If more than one team member manages a social profile within your team, the best practice is to have one account connect the proile/s and then share it with other team members. Learn how to share profiles, check the profiles shared with you, and transfer profiles you no longer manage.
Share a profile
- Go to Profiles+ > Profiles.
-
Locate the profile you want to share, click on the three dots to the right of the profile name, and select Share and a pop-up will appear.
- To share the profile with another user, click on the name of the user's account that you want to have access to that profile. Then, use the right-pointing caret between the two boxes to move the selected user to the 'Currently shared with' list.
- If you need to share the profile with additional users, repeat this process for each user. If you want to share profiles in bulk, see the section on 'Sharing multiple profiles'.
-
If you need to stop sharing a profile, select the user account in the 'Currently shared with' list and use the left-pointing caret to move it to the 'Team Members/Clients' list.
Note: The user accounts displayed in the Team Members/Clients box depend on the user accounts you have permission to access. -
Once you’ve shared the profile with the appropriate users, click the Close button to save.
Note: Profiles shared from another user account will not be displayed in the 'Profiles' view. If a profile appears in the 'Shared profiles' view, you do not have permission to share, edit, or delete that profile.
Share multiple profiles
We recommend sharing profiles where needed rather than, for example, setting up a profile for the same LinkedIn Company Page as separate profiles on two or more user accounts. Adding the same social account multiple times across user accounts can cause issues with reconnections, reporting, failed posts, and even cost you extra money. If needed, see how to 'Delete duplicate social profiles'.
-
Go to Settings > Manage Users > Profile Sharing.
-
The 'Share profiles between users' window will be displayed.
- Choose the owner of the profiles you want to share with another user.
- Next, pick the user account with which you want to share profiles.
- If the profile owner has many profiles set up on their account, you can filter by the name of a profile to help find specific profiles.
- Select individual profiles by checking the box opposite the name of the profile.
- To share more than one profile at a time, check multiple individual profiles or select the checkbox next to the profile type. For example, if you wanted to share all the Facebook Page profiles set up on a user's account, click the box next to the 'Facebook Page' heading, and all the Facebook profiles will be automatically selected.
- Once the boxes next to all the profiles you want to share are selected, click the right-facing caret to move those profiles into the 'Shared profiles' list.
-
If you’ve moved a profile you didn’t want to share or want to unshare profiles, select them in the 'Shared profiles' box, and then select the left-facing caret to remove them.
- Once all the profiles that should be shared with the account are in the 'Shared profiles' box, click the Save button to confirm that you want to share those profiles
Shared profiles
- You can check which profiles are shared with you by going to Profiles> Shared profiles.
-
On the right of the shared profile are the initials of the account that shared the profile with you.
Transfer a profile
-
If you select the transfer option, the following pop-up will appear. From the drop-down menu, select the user account to which you want to transfer that profile.
Note: Some profiles should not be transferred as they depend on other profiles linked to that account, e.g., an RSS autoposter profile. -
Once you’ve selected the user account to which you wish to transfer a profile, click the Ok button.
