Add UTM tracking to links
This article covers how you add custom parameters to your site in order to track the activity on those links in depth using Google Analytics. This is particularly useful when you're posting campaigns and allows you to show ROI to your business or clients. For more information about using UTM parameters in your links, please see this page.
Caution: This feature is not available on all plans.
Adding custom URL parameters
- Open the Compose Box and click the cog next to the shorten links icon, this will open the custom URL parameters option.
- Enter the URL you want to insert into your post.
- Enter the parameters and values you wish to be appended to the URL.
- Press Insert.
Note: The URL and parameters will be shortened based on the link shortener you’ve selected to use on your account.
Using custom URL templates
- To use an existing template, select it from the drop-down menu.
- To add a new template press the + (add template) icon, this will copy the parameters and values from the template you are currently on.
- To create a new template enter a name for your template then press Save template.
- To delete a template, choose the template from the drop-down list and press the bin icon.
Note: You cannot delete the Google Analytics template.
- To delete a parameter, click the x (delete) icon to the right of the parameter.
- To add a parameter, press the + (add) icon.
- To save your template, click on Apply & Insert.
Tip: To save a template without applying it to a URL press Apply without a URL entered.
