Offer free trials on your white-label account
Free trials are a great way to showcase your white-label service and attract new clients. If you want to allow people to set up trials on your white label, you will need to enable it on your account first. You control how long the trials will run and who is notified of new trials, so you can connect with your trialists if desired.
Things to know
- Find the white-label trial settings under White Label settings > Trial settings.
- Allow people to set up trials of your white-label service and test it for a length of time that you choose.
Enable trial sign-ups
To turn on the form that allows people to create a free trial on your white-label account, go to Settings > White Label settings > Trial settings and click the Enable button. Trials will not be enabled until you click the 'Save' button.
Take note of the URL shown below the 'Enable' button. This is the link you should share so people can set up their own trial accounts.
The 'Sign up for an account' option will also appear on your white-label login page.
Trial settings
-
'Trials Expire In': You can choose to offer 7-, 14-, or 30-day trials.
Note: You can set a maximum trial period of 30 days. If you choose a period of less than 30 days, you can extend your users' trials if needed. However, if you choose 30 days, you cannot extend those trials further, as that is the maximum length allowed. - 'Send new trial notifications': Choose whether to be notified when new users set up a trial. If you choose 'Yes', you will need to enter an email address where you want those notifications sent. The email does not need to be linked to your account.
- Click on the Save button after you have made your selections.
Manage trials
Once set up, when someone signs up for a trial, you can extend their trial or convert them to a full user. To perform these steps, you need to have Administrator access.
Logged in as an Administrator, please follow these steps:
- Navigate to Settings > Admin > Manage Users by clicking on your name in the top right corner of the dashboard.
- Alternatively, you can select the option in the top-left corner of the dashboard under My Dashboard > Manage Users.
- Users who are still on a trial will display the number of trial days remaining under the Profiles field.
- If you want to extend the trial for a trial user, first select the Edit option for that user.
- Select the Account option to the left of the pop-up.
- Click Workflow
- Next, click on the Extend trial by drop-down.
-
Once you've selected the number of additional trial days to add to a trial account, select the Update User button, and the additional trial time will then be applied to that trial user.
Note: A maximum of 30 days of trial can be offered. For example, if you're offering a trial of 14 days, you will only be able to add an additional 14 days to that trial account once. If you're offering a 30-day trial as standard, you will not be able to extend it. - If a trial has expired or someone wants to move from a trial to a full account during their trial, you can make them a standard user on your white label by selecting the Upgrade option next to their account in the Users table.
- The system will prompt you to confirm this change, as it cannot be reversed. If you would like to upgrade them, select the Confirm button. Otherwise, you can select the Cancel option to close the pop-up, and the user will remain a trial user
- Once you confirm the upgrade, that user will appear in the Users table as a standard user.
