Migrating from ContentCal to Sendible
Moving from one platform to another can be confusing, and there is always a steep learning curve as you work out the new system. To help you smoothly transition from ContentCal to Sendible, we’ve prepared this guide to help you hit the ground running.
Features at a glance
Here are the top 5 features to look out for when migrating from ContentCal to Sendible. Just click on the title to jump into each individual section and learn more.
Managing users and client dashboards
Our Traction plan includes four (4) users, and our Scale plan comes with seven (7) users, so you can easily bring your clients on board. If you need more users or a specific large-scale setup, we have custom plans to suit every need.
You can also add additional users across all our plans if you’re not ready to upgrade to the next plan up.
Each user has their own dashboard where they add social accounts and content and post from. You can set up user hierarchies to allow access to specific dashboards as well as assign different roles for managing content and approval workflows.
If you need an even more fine-tuned way to set up permissions and dashboard access or a white-label option, let us know.
Sendible provides a whole section of the dashboard dedicated to managing your social media profiles. You will be able to see how many profiles you have connected and how many you have left on your plan, a list of your profiles, and the profiles that have been shared with you.
This is also where you can set up Client Connect, which is a tool that allows your clients to securely connect their social profiles to your account through your website without needing to share passwords.
Add new profiles, including Facebook Pages and Groups, Instagram Business accounts, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google My Business, and YouTube.
For Instagram Business profiles, you must authenticate your account through Facebook. Check out this resource for more information on how to add Instagram to Sendible.
View how many profiles you’ve connected out of your total account allotment. Manage your profiles by sharing or transferring the profile to another dashboard. Plus, you can see if there are any profiles in need of reconnection, which will ensure that your posts continue to go out smoothly.
Profile Lists are a valuable way to save time when posting to the same sets of profiles in a dashboard.
Shared with me
If you’re working as part of a team, we want to ensure that you’re not needlessly using up your profile allotment. Rather than adding the same profiles to each individual dashboard, all you need to do is share profiles with other teammates. You can see all the profiles shared with you in the “Shared with me” view.
To share profiles, you’ll need to head to the “My Profile” view. Here is a resource to guide you through.
Instagram and Facebook Reels as well as YouTube Shorts
You can directly schedule your short-form videos to Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube on Sendible. For Facebook and Instagram, make sure you select Post video as: Reel in the Compose Box when uploading your Reel.
For YouTube, it’s as simple as uploading a vertical video under 60 seconds, which will then be automatically uploaded as a Short.
Smart posts to customise messages per social platform
Sendible provides the ability to customise posts per network in the same view. This makes it simple to tailor messages for each platform, including adding hashtags and emojis as well as tagging users and including extras like an Instagram first comment.
Sendible lets you select thumbnails for both Facebook and Instagram, as well as custom titles for YouTube, LinkedIn, and Facebook. Plus, add tags and a category for YouTube videos!
You can edit images directly in the compose box with either our built-in image editor or our Canva integration.
Post previews appear on the right side of the composer. In Sendible, all you need to do is click on the eye icon in the bottom toolbar.
Sendible easily integrates with Dropbox and Google Drive, so you can attach images stored on these accounts without having to leave your dashboard for those on the Scale plan and up.
Sendible lets you select an optimal time to publish right from the Smart Compose Box.
Sendible has a content calendar where you can see all upcoming scheduled messages. Easily drag and drop posts to different days or filter by profile or team member.
We also have over 300 social media holidays ready to be scheduled right from your dashboard or using our holidays calendar.
Plus, you can also download an HTML file of your filled-out calendar or print a PDF copy to showcase results to clients if you’re an agency or to stakeholders if you’re an in-house marketer.
Sendible gives you access to a media library of your previously posted content on all plans. From the Scale plan and up, you can also add new assets to a content library.
Sendible offers flexible scheduling options, including the ability to create preset schedules based on your optimal times for posts to publish.
Bulk importing and transferring content from ContentCal
With Sendible, you can easily access our bulk uploader from anywhere in the dashboard on any plan. Easily upload CSV files and then edit them visually with our bulk compose feature so you can save even more time scheduling social media posts.
Once your content from ContentCal has been exported, you will need to edit the CSV file to make sure that it is in the right format to be bulk imported into Sendible.
For Sendible, you will need to include the Message, Send Date, the URL you want to include in the message, and a link to the Image like in the below example.
The social media channel you are importing the content for will need to be selected in the Bulk Composer within Sendible. Watch the video below for a step-by-step walkthrough.
Social feeds and monitoring keywords
Sendible separates keyword monitoring and your social feeds so that you can easily view, navigate, and engage with your audience.
The Priority Inbox aggregates messages from all your social media channels so you can see exactly what comments you need to respond to. Plus, we even provide sentiment analysis so you can monitor positive or negative brand feedback.
You will have access to engagement like the home feed and messenger for Facebook, interactions on your posts for Instagram Business profiles, and multiple Twitter feeds, including Home, Messages, @ Mentions, Tweets, Retweets, and Followers.
Sendible lets you set up keyword alerts for Twitter so you can monitor any of your brand mentions or whenever a competitor is mentioned to track industry trends.
Access quick reports for Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, and Google Analytics on every single plan with Sendible. You can also explore an Engagement Report that shows engagement across all of your connected social media accounts. Check out this resource to learn more.
Depending on your plan, you can build custom reports, add your own branding, and share a live link with clients and stakeholders.
Content approval: tasks
Sendible provides approvals on our Traction plan and up, and you can specify which users require an approval before posting.
You can send posts for approval to another user directly through the Smart Compose Box.
Posts that need your approval will be found in your Publish view under Tasks on Sendible.
Easily filter tasks assigned to you, tasks you assigned to others, and tasks that are done.
Content and RSS auto posts
You can find relevant topics to your industry or interest, so you never run out of content to post.
You can also set up auto posts from RSS feeds, so the latest posts go out to your social media channels without interruption.
Subscription plans and add-ons
Sendible allows you to easily add additional users and profiles if you need more but are not ready to upgrade to the next plan. You have complete control over your account in the Subscription view.
We also don't lock users into contracts on our standard plans. So whether you choose to pay annually to receive a discount or monthly, you can change this frequency at any time.
Support and customer success
Live chat is available on every plan. To access live chat, just click on the help button in the bottom right corner of any page of the Helpdesk, type in your question, and then select 'Live chat', which will display if an agent is available.
We also offer weekly webinars, and for customers on the $199 Scale plan and up, you’ll have a dedicated customer success manager.
Sendible also offers in-app guidance where you can easily access support articles, video tutorials, product walkthroughs, and announcements, including weekly live deep dive training webinars right from your dashboard.
