Sendible and Meta Business Manager
Meta’s Business Manager is a way for users and agencies to own their assets (Facebook Pages, Instagram Accounts, etc.) all under one roof and share that access with others who may need it. Sendible supports the permissions given to Facebook Pages set up in Meta Business Manager as long as the user that will do the profile connection has Admin access to the page.
Quick Facts
- Users will need to be given Admin access to or Full control of the Page to be able to add it in Sendible.
- Meta has their own guides to using Business Manager: About Meta Business Manager.
Confirming Your Access
Once you’ve created and set up a Meta Business Manager, it’s important to know that you have enough access to be able to add a page in Sendible. You can do this by opening up https://business.facebook.com/settings and selecting the Business Manager that the Facebook Page has been added to/shared with.
Knowing if you own the Page or if you have access via a Partnership (if your client owns the Page) is the first step to confirming your Business Manager set-up. Once you’ve selected your Business Manager, you should see the following screen.
If you own the Facebook Page and need to adjust the settings for a Facebook Page you already own, click the Pages option on the left under Accounts to get a view of all of the Facebook Pages you have added/shared with you in your Business Manager.
If you need to add a new Page to your Business Manager, you can do this from the blue Add button at the top.
When you click a specific Page in Business Manager, you’ll see a list of all of the People who have access to that Facebook Page, and by clicking on their name, you will get a list of their available permissions. To be able to add a Page as a profile in Sendible, you’ll need to make sure that the user who will be connecting the profile has Facebook Access.
If you need to give access to a new user for the first time, you’ll first need to add them to the Business Manager, which you can do from the Users > People section.
By clicking Add, you can specify their role and add them to your Business Manager.
To give a user access to more Pages, you can do this anytime via the Add Assets button when looking at their user account. This will then bring up a list of the Pages you have access to in your Business Manager, and you can share the permissions with the other users:
Once the user has been given access to the Facebook Page, they should be able to add it in Sendible!
Partnerships
If your Business Manager does not own the Facebook Page, you may need your client to share the asset with you, or they may already have it shared with you. A Page can only be owned by one Business Manager, so access to these Pages/assets is shared via a Partnership.
Facebook would like each client to have a Meta Business Manager that is owned by them as they should control their own assets. This also makes it easier for them to give/remove access without giving someone total control over their Facebook Page or endangering the security of their account.
If you're a business that works with an agency or consultant, or vice versa, you can add them as a Partner and share assets.
When you add a Partner to your Meta Business Manager, you can grant access to different assets and assign specific permission levels. Partners can see assets you share with them in their own Meta Business Manager (see https://business.facebook.com/settings/partners). You can find any of your Partners and the Pages they have shared with you via the Users > Partners section. In the Assets shared with you area, you’ll see the Pages that have been shared with your Business Manager and the level of control you have over those Pages.
Need to have a client share a new Page with you? You can do this from the Add button and select Ask a partner to share their assets. This will take you through the flow of adding the client’s Business Manager as a partner, and then they can share their Facebook Page with you so that you can add it in Sendible. You will need the client’s Business ID, which they can find at: https://business.facebook.com/settings/info.
You can also see which Business Manager account owns the Pages you have access to when viewing the Pages section. It will list which Business Manager owns the Page underneath the name.
Common Issues
We sometimes see issues where a user may have Admin access via a Partnership to the Facebook Page connected to an Instagram Business account, but the user can not add the Instagram account in Sendible. This can happen if the Instagram Business account needs to have its connection reviewed which can only be done by the Business Manager account that owns the Facebook Page. For more information about that, please have a look at our guide: Why is my Instagram account not appearing when I try to (re)connect it?
