What is the issue?
At this time we have seen an increase in Facebook Posts that are undelivered/failed with the error “A security check is required to proceed”
This can happen when Facebook wants the user who connected this Facebook Profile to confirm their identity via their Page Publishing Authorization system. Meta may raise this flag for this process if you post to Pages with a large reach. Confirm that you have all security options set up for your Facebook Page is key when addressing this issue.
The first thing to confirm is the settings of your Facebook account to confirm if 2-Factor Authentication is enabled. This is one of the requirements for Facebook when securing accounts and allowing them to be added to various platforms.
To turn on or manage 2-Factor Authentication on Facebook
- Click your profile icon in the top right corner and navigate to your Security and Login Settings
- Scroll down to Use two factor authentication and click Edit
- Choose the security method you wish to add and follow the instructions on the screen
If you have 2-Factor Authentication already turned on, the next thing to confirm is that you have your Identity Confirmed on Facebook. This is usually as simple as uploading a photo of your driver's license showing that the names match and then they will allow you to post again. Facebook does this for Pages with a larger reach so that they can confirm it is a real person and not a bot spreading information.
To resolve this issue, you'll need to open up https://www.facebook.com/ directly and navigate to the settings by clicking your profile picture in the top right corner and selecting Settings. Then, on the Settings screen, choose Account Settings from the left bar. You'll now be on the Account Settings screen as shown in my screenshot below, and you'll want to click View next to the Identity Confirmation area:

Once your identity has been confirmed, you should see a green check mark and a message similar to this
Once you have confirmed your identity on Facebook, please try and re-post these Facebook posts to see if the same issue occurs.
