Pinterest: Enforcing community standards
In January 2021, we announced the official return of our Pinterest Integration and highlighted valuable guidelines to ensure that our customers follow the do's and don't's that are allowed on Pinterest:
- Make sure your pins match the content that you’re linking to.
- Keep that pinning frequency healthy.
- Keep your pin content fresh.
- Stay away from overly salesy content.
What does this mean to me now?
Pinterest's mission is to "bring everyone the inspiration to create a life they love". As we continue to make improvements, our focus for Pinterest is on making significant updates to the dashboard that will encourage you to remain within Pinterest's community standards and ensureing your posts scheduled from Sendible arrive on Pinterest with minimal delays.
What are the significant changes being made to my dashboard?
- You will have the ability to schedule one message to one Pinterest board at one time.
- Your Profile lists will only be able to include one Pinterest board.
- You will not have the ability to schedule identical posts across different Pinterest boards or repeat messages within a 12-hour period.
- You will not have the ability to queue messages to more than one Pinterest board within one Queue.
Does this mean I won't be able to schedule posts to more than one Pinterest board at one time?
Yes. You have the ability to schedule one message to one Pinterest board at a time. Trying to schedule to more than one Pinterest board will not be allowed.
Whilst you will be able to select more than one Pinterest in the Compose Box if you look to do this, once you click Send now or Schedule, your message will reappear with an error message with the selected profiles removed.
Whilst you will be able to select more than one Pinterest in the Bulk Importer if you look to do this, once you click Send now or Schedule, an error message will display until you remove Pinterest profiles and one remains.
Why are we making this change? Pinterest wants to inspire creativity and doesn't like repetitive, deceptive, or irrelevant content in an attempt to make money.
Does this mean I can't queue posts to more than one Pinterest board in a Queue?
Yes. You will not have the ability to queue messages to more than one Pinterest account within one Queue. As with the above, whilst this will not be fully blocked when adding the post to a Queue, the post will go out to one Pinterest board and fail for the remaining selected boards.
Why are we making this change? Pinterest doesn't want multiple accounts that share identical content that may manipulate the Pinterest platform.
Does this mean I can't send the same content more than once?
Pinterest wants to see fresh content and create a healthy pinning frequency. Through your dashboard, you will not have the ability to schedule or publish content identical to a message that has successfully reached the same Pinterest board within a 12-hour period.
You won't be able to repeat the same content within a 12-hour period. This will be the case whether the content is scheduled or in a queue with multiple time slots of posts set to go out in a 24-hour period.
Why are we making this change? Pinterest wants to encourage you to post relevant content to relevant boards, keeping the content of your posts high quality to avoid spammy behaviour.
What does this mean for content already scheduled?
If you have one post scheduled for more than one Pinterest board, the post will publish for one Pinterest board. For the remaining Pinterest boards, we will reject them on our end, and you will receive an undelivered message.
We recommend you review your future scheduled posts for Pinterest boards and amend the content to be fresh and relevant to each individual board.
What does this mean for content already queued?
If you have one post queued to more than one Pinterest board, the post will publish for one Pinterest board and the posts for the remaining Pinterest boards will be rejected on our end, and you will receive an undelivered message.
To ensure that your Queued messages don't continue to fail, locate the Queue(s) with more than one Pinterest board selected and remove Pinterest boards until one Pinterest board remains.
Read through Edit, share, or delete a Queue to make these adjustments quickly.
What does this mean for Profile lists that have more than one Pinterest board added?
You will need to go and edit your Profile list and remove Pinterest boards until one Pinterest board is remaining.
To edit and manage your profile lists, read through Create and manage Profile Lists.
