Overview of downloading report data

As we store reporting data for up to 3 months by default, our reporting is most relevant when generating a report for up to 3 months. If you wish to generate a report for a longer period of time, you have the ability to export your raw historical reporting data from Sendible as an HTML or CSV file to use for creating your own reporting. The data is downloadable for each month and is further broken up to display data on a day to day basis.

If you try to filter the data for a longer period of time, we will try to display additional historical data whenever available through the social sites' API (the way third parties integrate with the social sites); however, this data might not always be accurate.

Note: As we currently only store data for a maximum of 3 months, it's best practice to regularly export data if you want to track it for a longer period of time. Also, not all the data you can access through the Report Builder will be displayed as not all of this data can be displayed using just text.

Where to download raw data

  1. You can find this data in your Sendible dashboard by going to the Report tab.
  2. Then select the Download data option either from the drop-down or from the list on the left side.
    Note: Exporting raw data is not available on the Creator plan.
  3. Here you have the ability to download various reporting data sorted by various categories.
    Tip: Please see this article for more information.
  4. You can choose to export data as an HTML or CSV file.
  5. Exporting data as an HTML file will generate a quick HTML based chart for the month selected.
  6. Right-clicking on the chart and selecting Save image as... will let you download the chart as a PNG image file that you can include in your own reports.
  7. For data that can't be displayed as a chart, you can download it either as an HTML file or PDF file by right-clicking and selecting the Print..., then Save as PDF option.
  8. If you choose to download your data as a CSV file, you can create charts within Excel or any similar software that handles spreadsheets.
    Tip: You can create charts from your CSV file online in Google Sheets as well.

Creating charts from a CSV file

Once you have downloaded your desired raw data, opening up a CSV file in a spreadsheet management tool like Microsoft Excel, you can choose between different types of charts to display the data.

Most spreadsheet management tools will allow you to download/save the chart as a graphics file, such as PNG, JPG, PDF or SVG files.

Tip: SVG files are handy for displaying your charts in any browser without pixelating even when compressed down, as they are vector-based. If you are more advanced, you can also use this file type to edit or animate your chart with a vector graphics editor software, such as Adobe Illustrator, or further customise them using the XML markup language.
